Memcached crashing on FreeBSD

Machine in question is a quad xeon 550mhz w/ 4GB of RAM, being used for
light NFS and memcached. It's running FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE with the GENERIC
kernel. VERY stock configuration, and the machine is rock solid.

The other machine I was running memcached on is a Dual Xeon 2.8 w/ 2GB of
RAM, which also serves as a PostgreSQL server. It's running FreeBSD
5.2.1-RELEASE with a modified kernel (to increase semaphores). It exhibited
the same issue.

Uptime:
6:36PM up 410 days, 21:42, 3 users, load averages: 0.30, 0.28, 0.27

Top:
Mem: 220M Active, 3326M Inact, 219M Wired, 151M Cache, 112M Buf, 5552K Free
Swap: 4096M Total, 208K Used, 4096M Free

Memcached is called with:

/usr/local/bin/memcached -u root -p 11212 -m 512 -c 1024

(root so it can dump the core without going crazy changing filesystem
permissions, same behavior with a non-root user)
