memcache Server marked as failed......

Hi,
Basically, I am getting
the Marked server "localhost:11211" as  failed error....
whenever i am doing a get or set...
also, initially my key-value size was getting more than 1MB but now, i
have limited the size to less than 1MB....

please tell a good solution for this problem...
