Getting started, Bad file descriptor

Hi, I think I've got things set up correctly but when I try to add a
file to the system it's unable to save with the error "Bad file
descriptor". This is when using the example script here:
http://danga.com/mogilefs/usage.bml

This message also shows up in /var/log/messages:

Jul 25 10:11:38 web03 perlbal[26035]: system error: Internal error
(error = , path = /var/mogdata//dev1/0/000/000, file = 0000000017.fid)

I'm running FC3 and both perlbal and mogilefs and from the current CVS.

Any ideas? thanks!
