You should examine mogtool(1) "injection" to see how it does this, but 
it >is< external to MogileFS.pm.

The version I'm looking at is from the current CVS code. To get it, do 
something like this:

        cd /usr/local/src
        mkdir Danga-CVS
        cd Danga-CVS
        export CVSROOT=':pserver:anonymous at danga.com:/home/cvspub'
        cvs login
        # no password
        cvs checkout wcmtools/mogilefs

Then, look in utils/mogtool.
