Hello!

I have some code for you. There is a Yadis client package, and an
OpenID client and server package with support for the Yadis package as
well as OpenID Extensions, such as the Simple Registration Extension[1].

You can download both packages (along with their dependency, urljr) from
http://www.openidenabled.com/resources/downloads/python-openid/python-openid-combo-20060509.tar.gz

or individually as
http://www.openidenabled.com/resources/downloads/python-openid/python-urljr-1.0.0.tar.gz
http://www.openidenabled.com/resources/downloads/python-openid/python-yadis-1.0.0.tar.gz
http://www.openidenabled.com/resources/downloads/python-openid/python-openid-1.1.0.tar.gz

.zip files are available over there too if you need things like that.

If you used previous versions of this library and want to see what's
changed, you might like to read the NEWS file at
http://www.openidenabled.com/resources/darcsweb?r=python-openid;a=headblob;f=NEWS

If Python isn't what you need, stay tuned a little bit longer. The plan
is to release code in five other languages in the coming weeks.

p.s. I tried to find a theme for this announcement, but I got stumped.
It's not a holiday here, I don't know of any particular celestial events
happening today, and nothing particularly extraordinary happened to me
on the way to work this morning. May 9th is the birthday of John
Ashcroft, the 10th is the anniversary of Olaf Stapledon's birth and Shel
Silverstein's death. Wikipedia mentions it's Dag Day in Normal,
Illinois, but we aren't in Illinois and Wikipedia doesn't explain what
that's about. If you can find any meaning in all of that that ties in
to open source code for digital identity management, let me know. I'll
be interested to hear what you come up with.
