What steps will reproduce the problem?
brackup-target -v S3 gc

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Swap: 1024M Total, 268M Used, 756M Free, 26% Inuse, 1772K Out

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
brackup 1.06, freebsd 4.x

Please provide any additional information below.

 It swapped out a lot, because the machine "only" has 512M and other
processes running.

I have 14G bracked up on S3 that it's prune'd and is now gc.
[1222][brackup at sago1:~]$ brackup-target -v S3 prune
41 backups removed from target
[1223][brackup at sago1:~]$ brackup-target -v S3 gc
