Though, for GEARMAN_STATUS_RES, a value for running can be "0" (aka  
ASCII 48) which means "no not running".

Worker stuff is going pretty quickly, I suspect that by tomorrow it  
will be done. Thanks for the pointers last week on how to read the  
notes on the protocol. That was enough to get me in the right direction!
