personally, i would be perfectly happy with the ability to simply cache
strings. data structures can always be mushed into ugly looking strings
(or xml) and parsed back, if it really came to that.
considering my goal is to share memcached between a PHP application
and a C application, supporting general data structures isn't much
use to me.
