[PATCH] change verbosity level at runtime

Hi,

	I extracted this simple patch from my local tree (I hope it applies
cleanly, since I edited out some unrelated changes): it adds a
"verbosity" command so that the verbosity level can be changed at
runtime. I find it pretty useful to peek what's going on when running
with a large number of clients since otherwise logs become huge.
