[PATCH 0/5] Minor cleanups for 1.2.5

Hey,

The following is my branch of changes for 1.2.5. I scaled back my
intentions (due to lack of time this month) and will update
documentation after the -rc goes out. They're tiny.

These changes have not been applied to trunk yet. They are focused on
allowing better troubleshooting of eviction and out of memory
conditions. Also fixes a minor performance issue in item_alloc().

I took a long time to try to understand what's going on here, and have
tested it locally pretty thoroughly. Please give them a once over for
sanity's sake :)
