Purging unreachable files

We got this in our disk crash. Seems like one of our storage nodes
stopped responding which hung the mogilefsd processes on both of our
tracking machines.
The aftermath was a number of files in the unreachable_fids table which
seem to be missing forever. I'd like to restore some of these from
backup and I want to purge them first.
Can i just remove them from the 'file' and 'file_on' table?
