Cool. I'll probably wait for your Perl module, but that looks a lot
like LID, just a matter of marshalling the arguments differently.

In fact, I should probably just implement two GETs for autodiscovery
of the login type. And if I implement a client (something I've been
threatening to do), just let it deal with either set of requests.
