base64 pub keys

I've noticed a few impls of the getpubkey, return a base64 encoded key 
where the line lengths are 64 chars instead of the normal 76. Is there 
something I'm missing?

I'm just trying to find things I could be doing wrong -- am currently 
downloading perl to try to debug the signatures not being accepted. It's 
been a *long* time since I used perl though.. eek. Does anyone know if 
I'll have problems using the libs on windows with ActivePerl? Or cygwin?
