Web Services Access using YADIS

So one of the applications I was trying to get a friend to adopt for  
LID was for a for-pay content site that was partnering with a forum  
site. Subscribers to the forum site would get access to a subset of  
the for-pay content.

The idea was to use LID to log in to both sites, and then have a web  
API that would let the content site query the forum site to see if a  
LID (that the user had presumably logged in with) had collateral  
privileges.

I think the whole project eventually tumbled, but there's no reason  
that this couldn't be done with YADIS in conjunction with OpenID, LID  
or whatever.
