Memcached and MediaWiki

Hi,

 

I'm reaching a CPU limit with my host due to more or less high traffic
on my MediaWiki based website. While I heard that memcached would lower
the load on my database processing, I have no clue whatsoever on how to
install memcached on my host to work with MediaWiki.

 

Is there anywhere a step-by-step explanation on how to make that work?
Or could someone guide me through it?

I already downloaded the memcached 1.2.0 files.
