[OFF-TOPIC] linux 2.4 or 2.6

In my experience the (latest) 2.6 kernels are very stable.

The 2.4 series does have the "advantage" of having fewer new features, so
there may be somewhat less chance of bugs or mandatory security upgrades.
This is my guess though.

I believe there is an epoll backport for the 2.4 kernels...
