global variables

Hi,

memcached is designed to work as a separate process. And I have been trying
to run this as a part of a library.
I have had to push a lot of globals variables under a super structure. I
dont know if such changes will be accepted
if I submit a patch. But I do request that people who write code to try push
as many variables as possible under a umbrella structure.
It certainly will help people like me who will have their own unique
requirements.
