Pointcheval is, in general, right.  Certainly if there were an existing 
protocol for this job designed by heavyweights like him and accompanied 
by proper proofs, it would be far preferable to our current 
circumstances.  However, it's not clear that there's an existing 
protocol meeting that description that works in the circumstances we're 
trying to meet.
